Maple Lawn Senior Care Center’s Flower Pot Decorating Contest Team, The Blondies, earned first place on Tuesday for their little girl flower pot.
About one month before, Activities Director Annette Kremer laid out the rules for the Flower Pot Decorating Contest. Employees were to choose teams and then work together to create a creative and fun flower pot. One pot was provided for each team.
Teams were told that residents from all three buildings would be judging the pots, with judging held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 1:30 to 3:30 in the residents’ Living Room.
This event was planned as part of the celebration of Homes for the Aging Week for Maple Lawn Senior Care Center.
On judging day, the pots awaited the residents in front of the windows in the Maple Lawn Senior Care Living Room. The residents entered the room, and were given a pencil and judging sheet. They viewed each flower pot and then placed their vote in a ballot box at the far end of the table.
Flower pot number one was a little girl in a pink dress. She was created by The Blondies – Therese Bekx and Jana Timmerman. These two ladies won first place in the contest.
