Joy in the Journey 5-30-2018

As you read this, most graduation celebrations have come and gone.  Many of us probably shared time, laughter, and good food with some high school graduates or even some from college. It is a fun time of year, and offers us opportunity to see neighbors and friends that we haven’t seen in awhile when we attend these parties.

As we bring cards and gifts to the graduates, we sometimes add a piece of advice to help them in their future years.  As I paged through a book that I was reading, a bookmark caught my attention.  I bought it this past winter on our travels through White Sands National Monument in New Mexico.  It occurred to me that the advice shared on that little piece of cardstock was good for graduates and all the rest of us too!

                                 Advice from a Sand Dune!!

** Embrace Winds of Change

** Make Positive Ripples

** Keep Moving

** Be Patient Through the Dry Spells

**  Go With the Flow

**  Don’t Get Carried Away

**  Show Your True Grit

Congratulations to all of the Fulda graduates, and also to those in the surrounding areas.  We are proud of your accomplishments, and wish you the very best as you continue forward with your plans, dreams, and goals.  May I offer you one more piece of advice?  It comes from the Good Book, and it will help you go a long way in this world.  Romans 12:18 gives this advice:  “ If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

That means you must learn to speak and interact with people who think differently than you do.  It doesn’t mean you have to change your views or your message, but sometimes it means you have to change your approach.  True peacemaking begins in our hearts, not our heads.  Good blessings to you as you make your way in this world!
