Learning for a Lifetime is the theme of this year’s Fulda Wood Duck Festival. The dates of the celebration are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
Wednesday evening, 6 p.m., the Miss Fulda Contest kicks off this year’s Fulda Wood Duck Festival Celebration. The event is being held in the Fulda High School gymnasium.
Thursday, at 4 p.m., the annual Swim Meet will be held at Fulda Pool, with Supper in the Park (Fulda City Park) beginning at 5 p.m. This supper is a Raider Volleyball Team Uniform Fund-raiser. Enjoy the music of the Fulda Area Big Band Concert beginning at 6 p.m.
Midwest Rides will be providing midway fun and entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday evening.
On Friday evening, the Community Supper will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Fulda City Hall.
The Kiddie Parade will enchant the crowds at 6 p.m., and the Fulda High School Band will perform their concert at 7 p.m. Carnival activities will be available from 5 p.m. until midnight. Music by Judd Hoos will begin at 9:30 until 12:30 p.m.
Saturday line-up of events begins at 8:30 a.m. with the Fulda Wood Duck 5k Run. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at 9:15 a.m., the Fulda Wood Duck 5k Walk starts. Registration begins at 8 a.m. At 10 a.m., the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run starts. Each of these events will start at Fulda High School.
The 2nd Annual Irv Larson Memorial Tractor Ride begins with rolls and coffee at 9 a.m. at the Fulda Historical Society Building. The Tractor Ride begins at 9:30 a.m. and will travel a twenty-five mile route from Fulda to Wirock to Iona to Slayton to Avoca and back to Fulda. Fulda Heritage Society will hold an Open House at the Depot and Annex Building from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. They will be serving beef sandiwches from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
At 10 a.m. until noon, the Kids Fishing Contest will be held at Fulda Lake T-Dock.
A Pickleball Tournament is a new event this year. It will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Fulda High School.
Also new this year is the Lawn Mower Poker Run. Registration begins at 11:15 a.m. at the Fulda Community Center, with the Run scheduled to begin at noon.
Walking Tacos will be served at Fulda City Hall 4 to 7 p.m.
The 2018 Grand Parade, with Mrs. Loretta Gehl as Grand Marshal, will begin at 6 p.m.
Carnival activities will be available from 3 p.m. until midnight.
9 p.m. to midnight is also the Lions Street Dance and the Lions Beer Garden.
Fireworks will be shot off over Fulda Lake at dusk.
Sunday’s activities begins with the Firemen’s Pancake Feed. The Feed will be held from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Fulda Community Legion Hall.
Noon is the start of the Kiddie Tractor Pull. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.
Noon to 5 p.m. is entertainment in Fulda City Park with Bob and the Beachcombers.
Noon to 4:30 p.m., stop by the Silent Auction in Fulda City Park and place your bids!
A Community Club Food Stand will be available from noon to 5 p.m. in Fulda City Park.
All Sunday afternoon, every hour, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., 50/50 “Split the Pot” drawings will be held.
Fulda memorabilia will be on sale on Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday 1 to 8 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Look for the Tent by Fulda City Park.
