As expected when Jack and Kitty come to town, there was a crazy dance party for kids at Fulda City Hall on Wednesday afternoon.

Jack and Kitty are Emmy Award winning vaudevillian songsters who  play family friendly music influenced by old blues, ragtime and jazz from the 1920s and 1930s.

The pair come by their musical talents quite naturally. Kitty’s uncle is reggae legend Bunny Wailer (of Bob Marley and the Wailers fame) and Jack’s baby sitter was oddball ukulele weirdo Tiny Tim (“Tip Toe Through The Tulips”).

On Wednesday, the duo began their crazy dance party with a rhumba box and guitar music, stating that they were glad to be back in Fulda for a fun afternoon.

Several songs and audience interaction were enjoyed by the many children and adults who attended the event.  Some of the songs are Jack and/or Kitty originals. Other titles are easily recognizable to most people such as “On the Road Again”, “Rock Around the Clock”, “Oh, Susannah”, “Mama Don’t Allow”, and “Dancing Queen”.

“Tutti Ta” was great fun for all of the children as they did each action of the song – thumbs up, elbows back,  feet apart, knees together, bottoms up, tongue out, eyes shut.

Kitty played a variety of instruments that included castanets, the rhumba box, a box banjo, bones, spoons, a jug, wash board, and a junk yard saxophone.

Closing out their program, Kitty and Jack performed the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.
