DECLARATION OF NO WAKE ZONE IN MURRAY COUNTY

Pursuant to STATEWIDE EMERGENCY WATER SURFACE USE RESTRICTION, and

Pursuant to Minnesota Rules 6110.300-6110-3800, and

WHEREAS, due to the excessive shoreline damage, debris hazards, extraordinary high waters and the predictive forecast for 2-4 inches of rain for Murray County, Minnesota there is a NO WAKE

ZONE restriction of five (5) miles per hour of watercraft over the entire body of water for all lakes in Murray County, Minnesota effective immediately, and

WHEREAS, NO WAKE ZONE restrictions shall expire after 30 days from the date of this declaration, if no extension is granted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and

WHEREAS, in no case shall the NO WAKE ZONE restrictions continue beyond the time when the lakes reach a level of .10 feet below the Natural Ordinary High-Water Mark of all lakes in Murray County, and

WHEREAS, the Murray County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the enforcement of this Declaration, and

WHEREAS, law enforcement and public safety personnel are exempt from the requirements of this Declaration, and

NOW THEREFORE, Murray County, Minnesota Sheriff, Steve Telkamp, hereby declares A NO WAKE ZONE OVER THE ENTIRE BODY OF WATER FOR ALL LAKES IN, MURRAY COUNTY, MINNESOTA.
