Four animals from the Great Plains ZooMobile were shared by employee Miranda Furrer at Maple Lawn Senior Care Center on Monday afternoon. Furrer is one of the Great Plains Zoo employees who brings science and nature to those who may not be able to visit the zoo.

With Maple Lawn Senior Care Center residents gathered in the living room, Furrer began her presentation with stating that animals need the same basic things that humans do: shelter, food, water, and space.

A Bearded Dragon Lizard was the first animal that she shared, stating that the animal is native to Australia, living in the country’s desserts. “She is known as a Bearded Dragon because she puffs out her chin to look mean and tough. Her name is Sheila and she is ten years old,” Furrer said.
