A SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD
July 11, 2018 – 8:00 a.m. Pursuant to notice, the Murray County Board of Commissioners convened in special session with the following members present: Commissioners Kluis, Gunnink, Magnus, Jens and Thiner. Also present Heidi Winter.
The Board continued reviewing the 2019 budget proposals with Department Heads.
The meeting recessed at 9:03 a.m. and reconvened at 9:24 a.m.
MSP to hire Melecha, Inc from Villard, MN to pump flood water from Lake Elsie (NE1/4 of 15-Slayton Township) into Beaver Creek as an emergency protective measure to mitigate the risk of environmental issues relating to diesel tanks tipped in the water, further moving that this is being done at the recommendation of the MPCA and with a verbal agreement from the DNR.
The meeting recessed at 10:15 a.m. and reconvened at 10:31 a.m.
The Board continued reviewing the 2019 budget proposals.
The meeting recessed for lunch at 11:40 a.m. and reconvened at 12:43 p.m.
MSP to authorize Jon Bloemendaal to request permission from Pipestone County to use funds from the Tri-County Recycling equipment fund to fix a broken bailer at the recycling center, further moving that if Pipestone County is not favorable to using the equipment fund that the cost be paid through the normal disbursement process and any shortfall at the end of the year be shared by Pipestone County based on the current contract.
MSP to declare the conveyer glass crusher at the recycling center as surplus equipment, further moving to authorize selling the equipment on ebay.
MSP to authorize that the Tri-County Recycling Center hours be extended while it serves as an MPCA permitted drop off location for flood debris to be open on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Board continued reviewing the 2019 budget proposals.
