Ray Peterson has been named manager of the Talcott Wildlife Management Area. He is from Appleton.
Three Fulda men, Dr. R. H. Hoffman, Bob Zieske and George Estrem, were high bidders on a parcel of land near the former Chandler Air Force radar station. The men purchased 21 single-family homes with a bid of $172,944. The house were built in 1959 and in 1963. The plan is to sell the houses individually.
Large crowds attended the 1973 Fulda Summer Festival this weekend.
Effective August 1, motor vehicle registration applications submitted by mail or in person to the state office must be accompanied by a filing fee of 50 cents in addition to all other statutory fees and services under a new law passed by the 1973 Legislature.
Western Electric Company has installed new equipment in the Fulda telephone building which will allow for upgrades in service including private lines.

A treatment of 200 pounds of copper sulphate was applied to Seven Mile Lake on Wednesday resulting in a rapid deterioration of algae. Ernie Davis, Jim Malters and JoAnn Zieske spread the copper sulphate around the lake.
Army worms are damaging corn, alfalfa, peas, green pastures, forages and some small grains. It is recommended that farmers check their fields and spray when appropriate.

A son, Shannon, was born July 20th to Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Rehnelt. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Willford and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rehnelt.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Zemler are the parents of a baby girl, Dona, born July 11th.
Mr. and Mrs. James Kretzschmar announce the birth of a daughter, Kari born June 19th. Grandparents are Mrs. Margaret Lambert and Rev. and Mrs. A. J. Kretzschmar.
Bert Wildfeuer passed away suddenly on July 21st at the age of 56 years old.

Johanna Czepa is honored as resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.
The Murray County Chapter of Pheasants Forever received a plaque from the National Organization for their continued improvement of pheasant habitat. Accepting the plaque were Terry Johnson, Perry Loegering, Bruce Platt, Lonnie Leebens and Mike Michelau.
Excitement is overflowing at the Overman household where Nancy Overman has received a call from Hershey, Pennsylvania, concerning her qualification for the National Track Meet in August. Nancy, whose expertise lies in the softball throw, is one of five finalist from Minnesota.
A fire at the David Dardis farm completely destroyed a storage shed and it’s content as a result of sparks from a moped.
Michael and Margene Vortherms announce the adoption of their son, Matt, age 3 months. Grandparents are Lawrence and Lorraine Halbur and Mildred Vortherms.
Edward Wildfeuer passed away after being ill since April on July 21st at the age of 81 years old.
Senator Rudy Boschwitz visited the Murray County area on Friday stopping at the Arnie and Vi Christensen farm north of Iona.

The Fulda Community Choir to present the cantata “Nation, It’s Time to Pray” at Gullord Park on Sunday.
Construction continues with the replacement of sewer lines in the business district of Fulda. The Larson Crane crews, along with electrical and cement crews, are working six days a week to keep on schedule.
Melissa Stokesbary and Joseph Biren announce their engagement. The couple plan an August 22nd wedding date.
Ivan and Edith Brinkman will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children, Joanne and Wayne Smith, Mary and Roy Harrisville, John and Jody Brinkman and Lori and Patrick Crowley.
