Strings Across the Ocean was a performance of a story about a couple traveling from Sweden to America. It was held on Wednesday at Fulda City Hall. The story hour was for grades 1, 2, and 3 but also appealed to older students as well.
Ross Sutter, a well-known Minnesota singer teamed with Anders and Maria Larsson, who are from Sweden, to tell the story of immigrating to the United States from Sweden. Presented in song and verse, their program kept their audience’s attention as they told of purchasing tickets and preparing for the long journey about a boat.
The journey to America took three weeks, crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
Involving their audience, they told the story of the boat rocking as it rolled across the ocean waves and how the passengers eagerly looked each day to see if land could be seen
