The Murray County Commissioners met in regular session on August 7th. Dennis Goebel, CEO Murray County Medical Center, was on hand to update the Board on the status of MCMC. He shared the professional building sustained some water damage as the roof leaked during recent heavy rains causing water damage to walls in the dentist office. On a more positive note Goebel was happy to share MCMC has been successful in signing three new providers. Dr. Ken McDonough, MD, will start August 20th, Tracy Hansen, APRN, FNP, and a general surgeon which is expected to begin in approximately three months. Currently MCMC is sharing a surgeon and is only present at MCMC one day a week. He said the biggest change for MCMC’s financial picture was the amount discounted by insurances.
