Jerry’s Jottings 9-5-2018

The pleasant weather of the fall season will soon bring the best of weather for me. The humidity goes away and there is the hint of urgency that in the rush for the holidays. Past that, the season and it’s weather holds decreasingly less allure for me. This all translates to just a few words. I’m beginning to hate winter.  January and February are the beasts of winter. Usually. Last winter came closer to spring than anyone would want.

Labor Day weekend started with cutting a few logs up. Hopefully we will have them split and stacked before the Fall chores of raking leaves starts.  Sunday saw a somewhat toned back because of aches and pains. The Big Day saw us at the Tracy Box Car Day. Louise has relatives that live on the parade route. It’s a yearly party with good food and such stuff. This year we set out the chairs and ate a great lunch. Setting the chairs took a few minutes getting them nested in to enjoy the parade, and a few sprinkles started to fall. People started to scatter and within the next fifteen minutes there were chairs floating down the street. One was mine and the lady across the street snagged it as it went by. The water was ankle deep in the high spots. A total of about four inches fell in a short time. The parade was canceled. The day was done.

I try to get a full serving of fruits and veggies ever day

A Bloody Mary and a strawberry margarita

                               Usually does the trick

Have a good week!
