Sounds of the Fulda Fire Department’s truck sirens Tuesday through Friday last week had townspeople asking, ‘what’s going on?’ Some attempted to see where the trucks were heading and others waited to hear the news from their neighbors.
What was happening was fire education at the Fulda Fire Hall for students, pre-school to sixth grade, from Fulda Elementary School. Sunday, October 7 through Saturday, October 13 was Fire Prevention Week.
Under this year’s theme “Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware – fire can happen anywhere”, Fulda Fire Department personnel taught the students basic, but essential, ways that people can reduce their risk of being injured in a fire as well as being prepared in case of a fire in their home, place of business, or other buildings.
