“Ferdie” Haberman takes Honor Flight

“They really did it up  good, for that short of time,” F.W. “Ferdie” Haberman explained of the Honor Flight he was able to take part in on May 15. Also taking part in that Honor Flight was Les Starner, another Brewster Legion member.

The Brewster Legion Post #464 Commander Tom Behrends had shared information about he Honor Flight, and Ferdie took part in Mission 2 on May 15, 2019.

A warm and muggy day began when they taxied down the runway after arriving in Washington, D.C. “They had fire trucks shooting an arch of water and we taxied under the arch,” Ferdie said.

“It was a busy day, and we covered everything,” he explained of the trip. Leaving at 4:00 a.m., the trip included visits to Memorials for World War II, Korea and Vietnam, along with stops at the Marine, Air Force Navy and Nurses Monuments.
