Sealed bids for the project designated above will be received for, and in behalf of, Murray County (MN), the hereinafter referred to as the Owners, at the location listed above, on or before the above mentioned time and date, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Work of this contract consists of construction of remodeling various portions of the County Courthouse Building. Remodeling work efforts will include selective demolition, installation of new doors, frames and hardware, construction of new partition walls, cabinets, various finishes (flooring, wall and ceiling systems) and modifications to existing HVAC and electrical systems. Low voltage work for HVAC control and door operation will also be required.

A single lump sum bid will be required for all of the work. A pre-bid conference will be held 11:00 am (CST) on November 16, 2018 at the Project Site. The work must start by December 10, 2018. The project is to be completed by Friday, April 26, 2019.

Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and according to the Contract Documents prepared by CBS Squared, Inc. dated October 2018.

The Bidding Documents may be seen at the issuing office of the Murray County Courthouse, the Mankato Builders Exchange (75 Navaho Avenue, Suite #2, Mankato, MN) and the Sioux Falls Builders Exchange (1418 N C Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD). Each bid shall be accompanied by the Bidder’s Bond or Certified Check in the amount equal to at least 5 percent of the amount of the total bid, which shall be forfeited to the Owners in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract.

Bids shall be directed to the Owner securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper “Bid for Courthouse Security Upgrades”.

Each Bidder shall attend a pre-bid meeting at the project site – Murray County Courthouse – at 11:00 am on Friday, November 16, 2018 to tour the site and become acquainted with the various work items.

The Owners reserve the right to retain the deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 Days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.

Bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of bid amount.

This Work shall be subject to minimum wages and labor standards in accordance with State of Minnesota.

Murray County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or award the bid that is the most beneficial to the County.
