Fulda Community Club is preparing to present the 6th Annual Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 8th.
But even more fun is being planned for the week preceding the Parade of Lights!
A Winter Medallion Hunt will begin on Sunday, December 2nd and will go until the medallion is found. Clues will be released at local Fulda businesses and many other ways and places.
Fulda’s inaugural “Uffda” Hot Dish Contest will be held on Tuesday, December 4th. The event will take place in the Fulda High School cafeteria prior to the home basketball game with the Ellsworth Panthers.
Those participating in the “Uffda” Hot Dish Contest are being encouraged to dust off Grandma Martha’s special and secret hot dish recipe and compete for a VERY SPECIAL award, including bragging rights for the next 12 months in the City of Fulda.
An Ugly/Holiday Sweater Contest will be held during halftime of the game.
Then Saturday arrives with a sleigh full of fun activities for all ages:
• Ramerth Hardware will hold is annual Holiday Open House from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with coffee, cider and cookies. They will also be showing their rhubarb leaf art at the store.
• Fulda Memorial Library will be offering Board Games from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Stop by for fun, fellowship, and hot coffee, cider and Christmas treats.
• Holiday music will be playing on main street from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to wake up your Christmas spirit!
• Bake M. D. at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Vitality Fitness Center – front office.
• Flurries of Fun “Run” – Registration will be at 10 a.m. at Fulda Vitality Fitness with an 11 a.m. start from Mapleview Estates. Everyone is encouraged to wear holiday costumes or winter gear.)
• Soup Bar at Brian’s Supper Club and Tavern – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Warm up with a tasty lunch and plan for an afternoon of enjoyment and fellowship with neighbors, family and friends!
• Frozen Turkey Bowling on St. Paul Avenue – 1 to 3 p.m. This will be a hoot for both kids and adults. Donations of non-perishable goods will be a part of the entry fees. Donations will go to Fulda Food Shelf.
• THE STORE with Carvings Done Right will hold its Open House 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on 407 South Lafayette.
• Make and Take Christmas Craft – 2 p.m. at Fulda Vitality Fitness Center. This will be a hands-on fun time with the end result being a Kissing Ball made by your hands! The cost of making the Kissing Ball is $25.00 with a limit of 20 participants. Please pre-register by calling Beth at 507-425-2917.
• Fulda Arts and Legacy Committee is holding an Arts and Crafts Display at Fulda City Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be many items on display. Food will be available for purchase. Vendor booths are still available. For more information, call Mari at 507-425-333.
• Vendor Fair at Studio Z – 1 to 4 p.m. Display your special items for sale or just come and look and maybe make a holiday gift purchase. Call Holly at 507-360-6958 for more information.
• Horse-drawn Sleigh/Wagon Rides – St. Paul Avenue, 3 to 4 p.m. (Weather permitting.)
• Marshmallow Roasting on Main Street – 3 to 4 p.m. The Fulda Lion’s Club will manage the fire pots for you to warm up around and make a special afternoon treat for yourself.
• Santa Claus at Antonio’s – 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. Bring your kids! Bring your camera! Santa is looking forward to meeting the “kids” of Fulda, both young and young-at-heart alike.
• 2018 Fulda Parade of Lights – 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Candy Cane Christmas”.
• Family Movie at Fulda High School – 7 to 8 p.m. is registration with the movie, “The Star” being viewed from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
• Hot Cocoa and Bon Fire – 8 p.m. to close at Brian’s Supper Club and Tavern.
And to complete the week’s festivities, Sunday, December 9th: 2019 Fulda Wood Duck Festival Fireworks Breakfast Fundraiser – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Fulda Community Center. Bloody Mary and mimosa drinks will also be available.
