Santa received a Christmas card from one very happy little boy on Saturday when he arrived in Fulda to visit with the children.

Arvid Kramer named to WCCO Radio’s All-State Basketball Team of the Week.

Margaret Downey has been awarded 3rd prize in a contest, National Free Verse Poetry promoted by the Major Chapter of the Pierson Mettler Association of Tremont, Illinois for her home entitled “The Youth of the 70’s.”

The Windom Holiday basketball tournament has been cancelled as a result of the No School Activities during the period of December 22 – January 6 in the state of Minnesota in an effort to conserve energy.

Over 200 area residents attended the 15th Anniversary Open House of the Fulda Farm Store on December 6th which is owned and operated by Albert and Ida Speckmier and their daughter, Lori, 15.

The Fulda Area Jaycees are again selling Christmas Trees this year.

Donna Schettler and Steven Clarke were married in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont on December 8th.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gehl to celebrate their Golden Anniversary on Sunday with an open house.

Santa, his elf and reindeer made several stops around the area paying visits to children to find out their Christmas wishes. Thank you Rich Boehkne, Travis and Maggie.

Dear Santa letters wrote by the second grade classes at Fulda Elementary and St. Paul’s Lutheran Schools.

The seventeen member crew from Lights On of Minneapolis  was joined by ten extras and three actors during the shooting of “Voices on the Prairie” at Currie’s End-O-Line Park on December 15th. The short film was set in the late 1800s.

The 7th Annual Parade of Trees was held at the Murray County Historical Museum in Slayton featuring 40 trees for viewing by nearly 400 visitors.

Sights & Sounds of the Season include the fourth grade class performing “The Night the Reindeer Rocked”; the fifth and sixth grade band and choir; and the performance of the Nutcracker.

Cathy and Daryl Ruesch observe their 25th wedding anniversary.

Lili Roti celebrates her 90th birthday with an open house.

Karen and Ken Rogers are the proud parents of Andrew born on November 11th. Grandparents are Bob and Sue Klein and Bill and Maxine Rogers.

Lisa and Randy Groenwold are the parents of a boy born December 11th. Grandparents are Pete and Rosy Gronewold, Judith Gerber and Roger Gerber.

Carlton Van Peursem passed away on December 16th at the age of 87 years old.
