Watching a child learn and grow is one of the greatest joys of parenting. However, when parents are concerned that their child isn’t meeting typical milestones, they may begin to worry.
That’s where Help Me Grow Minnesota comes in. Also known as Early Intervention, this state program works with local school districts to provide help to families concerned with their child’s development. Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is one of the conditions that Help Me Grow Minnesota can help address.
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Autism Spectrum Disorder is a condition related to brain development that impacts how a person perceives and socializes with others, causing problems in social interaction and communication. This disorder also includes limited and repetitive patterns of behavior. The term “spectrum” in autism spectrum disorder refers to the wide range of symptoms and severity.” One of 42 boys and one in 189 girls are affected with autism.
