Artist Greg Preslicka painted two murals on the walls at Fulda Memorial Library last week. He had been commissioned to paint a mural that represented the Fulda community and one that would fill an elongated space at the top of a wall in the children’s section.
Coming through the entry way, patrons will now see a large mural just to their right of the Fulda Depot, complete with an engine blasting smoke as it rolls along the rail line. The mural includes a large tree with a wood duck hen perched in its branches. Upon inspection, the viewer will quickly find the two young ducklings in the trunk of the tree.
The second mural runs for several feet on a wall in the children’s section of Fulda Memorial Library. This mural is of a parade procession at which Woody, Fulda’s wood duck mascot is the grand marshal. Several animals, as well as an open book are included as several of the floats. Ending the procession is a large red tractor.
