For the past 46 years, Fulda’s Holiday Craft Bazaar has been the place to be on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year, the same is true!
Fulda’s Holiday Bazaar, being held at Fulda High School, opens its doors at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Beckmann’s Designs, owned and operated by Shelly Beckmann, will be one of the vendors at the Holiday Bazaar. This is her first year as a vendor at the Fulda show and she is greatly looking forward to it.
Beckmann, who is a Fulda resident, began sewing memory bears. “Just two weeks prior to my aunts wedding, my grandpa passed away,” Beckmann said. “I researched memory bears on Pinterest and ended up making fifteen total bears from Grandpa’s shirts. The reaction from each one was just addictive for me. Grandma wanted a pillow, so I also made a pillow for her.”
Last Christmas, Shelly’s husband, Lance, purchased her an embroidery machine.
“There were requests for embroidery on some of the items and that machine has certainly helped me with that!” Beckmann commented.
Besides making memory bears, pillows, and hot pads and pot holder sets, Beckmann has several items that she embroiders including bibs, onsies, and Christmas stockings. She will also complete quilts. She has made a few quilts, but only through orders.
