The Murray County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, October 24. Ditch bills were presented by County Auditor/treasurer Heidi Winter. Approved were bills from Bolton and Menk for engineering services on Judicial Ditch #3 and JD #8. A bill from Johnson Ditching, Inc. for emergency route around State Hwy 30, County Ditch 11 was also approved. Two bills on JD #3 from I&S Group were pulled and not approved at this time.
Howard Konkol, ditch inspector, presented four petitions for ditch repair. Judicial Ditch #11 Belfast Township Sections 31 and 32 for camera investigation, County Ditch #62 Des Moines River Township Section 3 blowout or broken tile and CD #20 Lowville Township Section 14 partial cleanout of open ditch, and JD #14 Chanarambie Township Section 9 – plugged tile.
Jon Bloemendaal, spoke with the board concerning the replacement of the fire destroyed recycling shed in Iona. Various options for the replacement were discussed and he will report at the next board meeting.
