Fulda girls took to the Rolling Hills Golf Course in Westbrook on Tuesday for the 18 hole invitational and came away with a 7th place finish shooting a 436. Windom won the invitational by shooting a 392 followed by WWG at a 400. Individually Lynneigh Vrooman again showed she is one of the better golfers in our area by firing a round of 97, which was good enough for 8th place and only 2 strokes away from medaling in the top 5. Tayler Warborg and Amber Breuker also came in with very respectable rounds of 107 for their day, and Lexi Freese rounded out the scoring by shooting a season best 125. There were a lot of bright spots for the Fulda girls on this day as all 4 girls competing shot good rounds for them.
Then on Thursday afternoon, the Raider girls battled HLO and although we came away with an Incomplete score due to only having 3 golfers, those 3 golfers all shot great rounds and all medaled on the day. HLO won the girls match with a score of 224. Amber Breuker had her best round ever and won medalist round with a 45. She fired 3 pars, 3 bogeys, and 3 double bogeys to come away with a very nice round. Emily Schroer battled illnesses to come out and shoot a round of 48 which tied her teammate Lynneigh Vrooman for 2nd place. Unfortunately we did not have a 4th golfer to round out the team scoring otherwise we would have shot our season best round for the year.
Hopefully on Tuesday, when the girls take to the Red Rock Conference meet, we can all get healthy and continue to shoot like they are all capable of, and can compete for a top 2 spot at the conference meet in Worthington.

Tuesday afternoon, the Fulda boy’s golf team took to the Town and Country Golf Course for a 9 team 18 hole invitational and came away with its first ever title in the event, firing an 18 hole score of 337. WWG came in 2nd place 9 strokes behind, followed by MCC 348, Windom 365, SWC-E 368, Adrian 396, MLA-C 403, HLO 405, and RRC 409.
Justin Dierks fired his best round of the year with a 78, which was good enough for 2nd place overall, 1 stroke behind winner Jack Pierson of MCC. Justin had a very nice round with 2 birdies and 9 pars on the round. Not far behind him was Cory Renneke whose 83 was good enough for 6th place overall. Cory had 8 pars to his card and 9 bogeys for a very consistent round. Payton Marquardt continued his nice string of golf giving us an 86 on his day that featured 7 pars on his round. Brandon Everett rounded out the team scoring by shooting a 90 which included a birdie on his very first hole of the day. He also had 4 pars on his round. Tyler Madison and Joe Fischer rounded out the golfing by both shooting a 97. Also having a chance to golf at our invite were Aron Hulstein who shot a very impressive 84 and Jason Van Dyke who shot a 96.
It is great to see the consistency these guys are shooting night in and night out. Having 8 very capable golfers makes it nice to not have to rely on 1 or 2 golfers to come in low every night.
On Thursday afternoon, the Raiders hosted the HLO Wildcats and came away with a victory 168-211. Cory Renneke shot his first ever round in the 30’s winning medalist honors with a 38. Cory had 1 birdie, 5 pars, and 3 bogeys. Not far behind his was fellow sophomore Payton Marquardt who just missed the 30’s by inches and ended with a 40, good enough for 2nd place. Payton fired 5 pars and 4 bogeys. Brandon Everett shot a very nice round of 44 on his day that saw him again start his round with a birdie. Joe Fischer rounded out the team scoring with a 46 that also included a birdie on his round. Justin Dierks 50 and Tyler Madison 51 rounded out the varsity scoring. Aron Hulstein continued his nice stretch of golfing by shooting a 43 and winning the JV portion of the meet. Aron also tallied a birdie on his round. Jason Van Dyke shot a round of 49 and Kade Clarke rounded out the boys scoring with a 58.
This week the boys will start the post-season part of their schedule by heading to Worthington on Tuesday for the Red Rock Conference golf meet. Then on Thursday the boys will host TMB in a make up match before starting Section play on Wednesday, May 24th.
