Bridge work to begin in Nobles County Oct. 16

Henning Construction of Adrian, MN will begin work on October 16, 2017 to replace five bridges in Nobles County.

The first two projects are located on County state Aid Highway 13, Hesselroth Ave between CSAH 25, 160th St. and the Murray County line.

The roadway will be closed  to through traffic and a  detour will be signed.  It will be possible to access property along the roadway during construction.

These projects are being funded with State Bonding.  The work could not begin until the funding was approved and the bidding process completed.  The precast concrete pipe then needed to be manufactured before the work could begin.  These requirements have delayed the project start date until October.

The road closure will be around 3 weeks for these two projects to be completed

If the work is not done now, it would have to wait until fall of 2018. The roadway is planned to be resurfaced in 2018.  These bridges needed to be completed before the resurfacing is done.

Nobles County is sorry for any inconvenience that this will create for farmers that use this roadway for their harvest.

It is the intention of the contractor to do the work as quickly as they can and reopen the roadway to traffic as soon as possible.
