When entering fifth grade at Fulda Elementary School, students know that they will be participating in the Buddy-Up Program. For this program, the fifth grade students visit with residents at Maple Lawn Senior Care Center on a scheduled visitation day.
The purpose of these visits is for the students to become acquainted with a Maple Lawn Senior Care resident that has been assigned as their buddy. This much-looked forward visit, on both the part of the students and the residents, has created some truly wonderful friendships.
Each November for several years, Buddy-up partners have packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child together. On Thursday, that is what took place during the Buddy-Up Visit.
