Bringing the songs of the season to the Fulda High School gymnasium on Monday evening were the Fulda Elementary Band, the Fulda Junior High Band, and the Fulda Senior High Band. The instrumental program was under the direction of Matt Saxman.
The Elementary Band opened the concert with two numbers: “Starsplitter Fanfare” and “A Christmas Sleigh Ride”.
Performing for the very first time as a violin soloist was Htoo Han. Accompanied by Mr. Saxman on keyboard, Htoo picked the strings of the violin to play “Jingle Bells”. Htoo is a beginning violin student.
“Bunker Hill Overture”, “Chanukah: The Festival of Lights Overture”, and “Santa’s Noisy Workshop” were all very lively pieces played by the Junior High Band.
An eleven member saxophone ensemble was on stage next. They played “Cradle Song (Away in a Manger)” written by William Kirkpatrick. The arrangement of the song was composed by Jim Engebretson.
