Fulda’s Casey’s General Store has begun a major remodeling project. Sam Knezevic, Financial Analyst with Casey’s Headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa, said that the remodel will include adding 16 feet to the south side of the building. “What we do when we do a major remodel is re-configure the inside. We are adding a made-to-order sub sandwich line to the food items. There will also be a walk-in beer cooler. The beverage selections bar will be relocated to the center of the store. More cooler space and storage area will be added, and the bathrooms are also being re-configured.”

As the work continues, the store will close for a short time to complete the interior remodeling, although  “When it does reopen, customers will see a brand new store inside,” Knezevic stated. “When you walk in the doors, straight ahead of you will be the full sub bar and we will also be offering other prepared foods that weren’t available previously. This is a significant upgrade like what we have done to over 1,000 of our other stores.”

Because a portion of the sidewalk and a few parking spaces have been disturbed by the beginning of the remodel, Knezevic said that customers will also see a new sidewalk when the work is finished.
