Construction for Casey’s General Store of Slayton began in October of 2017. James Pistillo, Vice President of Accounting and Treasurer for Casey’s General Stores, Inc. said, “Understanding weather can be a challenge, our projected completion date is July of 2018.” He, of course, was referencing the many winter storm events that have happened during the winter months and taking into consideration the possibility of rain storms in the coming months.
When asked about the interior floor plan, Pistillo stated, “The floor plan is roughly a 3,400 square foot store, split reasonably evenly between our grocery and prepared food offerings. Grocery will include all our cooler door offerings, along with cigarettes, beer and general grocery items. Prepared foods will include our made from scratch pizza, made from scratch donuts and other bakery items, fountain drinks, coffee, and made to order sub sandwiches.”
The new store will have multiple fuel offerings including diesel.
Although the company has not determined definite hours for the Slayton store, the traditional hours at other area Casey’s General Stores are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
“This will be our first store in Slayton, and it is always exciting to bring our Casey’s brand and offerings to a new community. We hope the community will find us to be a good community partner, and provide them a variety of offerings to help them through their day!” Pistillo stated.
The store is located at 2017 Maple Avenue, Slayton, MN.
