Ten couples celebrated their love at a Valentines Sweetheart Supper held on Tuesday, February 13th, at Mapleview Estates. The couples who attended are residents at the Maple Lawn Senior Care Campus. Most of the couples have been married for almost 70 years.
With Valentines Day decorations setting the mood, the dining room at Mapleview Estates had a restaurant-style atmosphere which helped to make the supper even more special. The diners had a choice of being served wine, beer, sparkling wine or water to begin their special supper.
The menu included a choice of potato soup or a salad, along with a baked, bone-in pork chop, Rice Pilaf, and mixed vegetables. The Valentines Supper dessert was a sugar free Triple Layered Chocolate Cake topped with cherries.
The gentlemen were encouraged to pick out a carnation from a flower basket to give to their wives, and the wives gave boxes of candy to their husbands.
