Cheadle wins high jump at Redwood; Gabe Spittle claims pair of seconds at Redwood Falls meet

A winning performance by senior Sam Cheadle in the high jump and pair of second-place finishes by classmate Gabe Spittle led the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda boys track and field team at a four-team indoor meet at Redwood Falls last Thursday, March 28.

Five days earlier, the Coyotes also competed in a six-team indoor meet at Mankato and had several placing performances in that event, held on Saturday, March 23.

At Redwood Cheadle won the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-8. He also placed fifth in the long jump (16-11).

Spittle finished second in the 200-meter dash (26.38 seconds) and placed second in the pole vault (9-6).

Spittle and Cheadle also ran legs on HLOF’s third-place 4×100-meter relay team (53.3). Completing the event for the Coyotes were senior Daine Jensen and sophomore Sean Sauve.
