Christmas at the Movies presented by the Fulda High School Band

Christmas at the Movies was the theme for the Fulda High School Band concert presented Monday evening in the high school gymnasium. Matt Saxman directed the elementary, junior high and senior high bands.

Opening the concert was the Elementary Band with three numbers including “Tyrannosaurus Rocks!”, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, and “Christmas Mash-Up March”.

From the Junior High Band, the audience heard the “Trumpeter’s Holiday” which featured the ten  trumpeters in that  section. They also played “Woodwinds on the Run”, which featured the flutes, clarinets and saxes. “Fanfare for a Holiday Celebration” was the Junior High Band’s third number. They closed their portion of the program with “Somewhere in My Memory”.

“Where are you Christmas?” from the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, was performed with a flute solo by Ella Stapek.

When the Senior High Band took the stage, they opened their performance with music from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. Included in the medley they delivered was “Welcome Christmas”, “Trim up the Tree”, “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”.
