City contributes to rebuilding of the Fulda Community Club parade float

The Fulda City Council met Monday, July 1, and was presided over by the Acting Mayor Jim Brown in the absence of Mayor Chad Ouellette. Don Reith had question on a tile that was plugged. The city had cleaned tree roots out that opened the tile but there was a tree line that the tile crossed. The area includes an unused street. The city agreed to remove several trees and form a working agreement.

The city will be seal coating streets in the northwest part of town. Allied Blacktop Co. Maple Grove, MN bid for the project at $2.30 per sq. yd. and the city would provide the pea gravel and haul it in and sweep up after. The end cost for the city would be $55,404.20

The city received over $6,000 from FEMA for its part of the cost incurred in the 2018 flooding.

The city will be paying $500 towards the rebuilding of the Fulda Community Club parade float. The money will come from the Evelyn M. Barr fund.

The Baltimore Ave. Project was bid at $174,742.75 with $3,500 left to be paid.

Building permits were approved for Jack and Beth Kaufman – replace deck with steps and replace sidewalk, Jennifer Buchholz – steps and walk,  Allison Getting-deck, patio and move garage door and walk, Rich Boehnke – storage shed.

The next regular meeting will be August 5 at 6:30 p.m.
