Utilizing a strong finishing kick, Murray County Central / Fulda’s Justin Clarke raced to an impressive fourth-place performance last Thursday (September 27) in the nine-team Rebel Invitational high school cross country meet on the challenging hills of the Slayton Golf Course.

A junior, Clarke ran the extended 5,000-meter distance, on a revamped course, in 18:15 as he just nipped both Martin County West’s Kolton Larson and Worthington’s Andrew Huber at the finish line.  Both Huber and Larson had run well in front of Clarke earlier in the race.

Worthington junior Adam Koller (17:34), MCW’s Carson Kahler (17:51) and Worthington’s Christian Lietz (18:01) earned the top-three places among the field of 53 varsity finishers.
