The Murray County Commissioners met in regular session this past Tuesday. Among agenda items was the approval of the minutes, warrants, and ditch bills.

Howard Konkol shared his ditch inspection report with approvals given for CD20, CD10, CD11, CD87, JD2, JD20. Follow-up discussion was held in regards to JD3 with those in attendance opting to deny the request feeling it wasn’t necessary to clean it out.

The Board also expressed their desire to possibly move forward with legal action against MNDOT in regards to JD 11 – Highway 30. Last correspondence from the MN DOT attorney was dated May 17th. “We are setting a precedence because this (collapse of tile) could happen again,” says Dave Thiner, commissioner. “What are we gonna do when the next sink hole happens?” It was decided to reach out to ditch attorney, Kurt Deter, and then get the land owners together to decide how they would like to move forward since it’s their money that’s being spent.
