Converting on a trio of key offensive-rebound baskets late in the second half, the Cedar Mountain Cougars prevailed with a 78-70 victory over the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes in a non-conference high school boys’ basketball game last Monday night (January 20) in Morgan.
Cedar Mountain built a 37-30 halftime lead and maintained a slight advantage throughout most of the final 18 minutes. The score was tied at 58 about midway through the second half before the Cougars got three second-chance buckets in a short amount of time to regain the lead and then held down the stretch for an eight-point win.
