The Fulda City Council met Monday, March 6, for their regular meeting.
Brian VanderBeek requested a sewer line from the back of his building, Brian’s Supper Club, under Highway 59 to the main all located in the street. VanderBeek said that they would pay the entire cost of the project and they would also have a grinder pump located on the line. The council later under new business, decided to grant the request. The full cost would be paid by VanderBeek plus they would pay double the amount for their monthly sewer charge.
Mike Baerenwald requested that his property on the east side of 59 adjacent to Brian’s Supper Club have sewer access. The city said that when the project was talked about last year, the discussion ended with little reason for the city to extend a north-south sewer line on the east side of 59 outside the city limits. Therefore, the property owners would be required to pay their own expenses for their sewer system.
The city will start on the four-year program of cleaning the sanitary sewer’s doing one fourth of the manholes each year. The cost of the project would be $19,000.00 divided by four years. The city will start with the program this summer.
