Fulda City Council met for their regular meeting on Monday, March 5th. Marcine Elder shared with the council that there has not been a major update to the equipment needed to broadcast on cable channel 3 since 2008. She said that many of the computer components that are being used are no longer compatible with the current technology. Elder proposed the purchase of new software, available through Leightronix, at a cost of $15,630.00. This matter was tabled and will be more thoroughly discussed during the April city council meeting.
Ann Wendorff, Fulda Public Schools Superintendent asked the Fulda City Council if there was a possibility that the City of Fulda could help with the cost of repairs that are currently needed at Fulda Pool. This matter was tabled by the council to provide ample time to investigate possible funding.
The council reviewed a conditional use permit application from Jeff and Levi Zins to construct and operate a new feedlot over 300 animal units in the Agriculture District, by constucting a 3,000 head total confinement swine barn with a concrete manure pit. After construction, the site total will be 900 animal units. The Murray County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. in the County Commissioner’s Meeting Room, Murray County Government Center, Slayton, MN to take public comment and act on the application.
Fulda City Council approved a franchise agreement between the City of Fulda and Mediacom Minnesota LLC that is effective from April 1, 2018 with an expiration date of April 1, 2028.
Renewal of liquor licenses were approved for Graff’s Liquor, American Legion Post #318, Town and Country Golf Club, Inc., Julie’s Place, and Casey’s General Store #1687.
Ordinance No. 231 which is an ordinance enacting and adopting a supplement to the code of ordinances for the City of Fulda, and declaring an emergency was passed and adopted by the city county.
