Matt Madsen, a strong all-around junior athlete for the paired Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda sports programs, scored 18 points last Thursday evening (January 16) at Cleveland as the Coyote B-Squad boys’ basketball team edged the host Clippers by a final score of 39-38.
Madsen, who excels for HLOF at the varsity level in both football and baseball, enjoyed a fine night of basketball as he connected on six two-point field goals, one three-point shot and a trio of free throws in a versatile scoring performance.
The Coyotes, who trailed by three points (17-20) at halftime, rallied with a better second half and claimed their fourth straight victory, improving their overall record to 8-6 for the season.
