Playing three games last week — two in Okabena and one at Hills — the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda B-Squad girls competed hard, but came up on the short end of the final score in each contest.
As the end of the season approaches, the B-Squad girls have an overall record of 6-14 this winter.
Westbrook-Walnut Grove rallied for a 33-28 win over the Coyotes at Okabena on Tuesday, January 28. HLOF earned a 16-11 halftime lead and seven players score in the game.
Faith White (10), Kalli Johnson (seven) and Anna Fest (five) combined to score 22 of HLOF’s points, while Taylor Haberman (two), Taryn Evers (two), Kelli Renneke (one) and Addison Fisher (one) also scored for the Coyotes.
On Thursday (January 30), the pairing of Granada-Huntley-East Chain, Truman and Martin Luther came to Okabena and claimed a 49-33 victory after leading at intermission by a score of 25-19.
