Coyotes take to the golf course as season finally opens

The HLO-Fulda golf teams opened their season facing Hills-Beaver Creek in a match playing on April 26 in Brandon, SD.

Cool and windy condition prevailed on the 17 hole, par 51 course.

The boys played a close match, falling to HBC by one point, 288-287. The girls scored 326, and HBC was incomplete.

Joe Fischer was the boy’s medalist, leading the Coyotes with a 64. He was followed by Cory Renneke with a 70. Ben Sheldahl and Isaiah Schmid each shot 77 to round out the Coyote scoring.

HBC was led by Dylan Taubert, with a 65.

Despite not fielding a full team, the girls medalist came from HBC, as Tess Van Maanen finished the day with a 67.

The Coyotes were led by Lynneigh Vrooman, who carded a 78 on the day. Tayler Warborg (81), Elly Bang (83) and Samantha Freking (84) completed the Coyote scoring.
