Cushioning Cancer Port Pillows made by FCCLA

Cushioning Cancer is the name of an FCCLA project at Fulda High School that was chosen to fulfill the requirements of a National Programs Category Project.

Planned and executed by seniors Bailey Onken and Katy Hakeneis, the Cushioning Cancer project makes portacath pillows for cancer patients who have a small port placed beneath the skin so that they can receive chemotherapy.

The little pillows can be attached to a seat belt or any strap that may ride across the port site and cause irritation.

Onken and Hakeneis have set a goal to make and donate 40 of the port pillows.
