Parents advocating for student success will hold meeting

The Fulda School Board approved the consent agenda, which covered the previous minutes, bills - through the financial reports. It also included engaging an audit firm, a superintendents contract, two fundraisers, and open enrollment requests.

The superintendent’s contract starts July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2012, $89,000, $92,000 and $95,000 respectfully.

Kindergarten Roundup is set for March 22 at 6:30 p.m. Pre-school open house is March 26, 9-10:30 a.m., and parent-teacher conferences are March 29th.

Rrgistration for the high school for the next school year is Wednesday, March 10th.

State aid for the Fulda District will be withheld starting March 15 with $139.000, March 30 - $108,000 plus and April is for $111,000. Totaling over $400,000, the monies will be repaid on May 30th.

Parents Advocacy for Student Success (PASS) will hold informational meetings on topics that can influence your child’s success in school. The meetings will be held Thursdays, April 8, 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

In new business, the board approved the advertising for summer employment positions.

Contracts with SW/WC Service Cooperative for the next school year for $7,658.94 down from $11,277.12. Currently the federal and state reimbursement totals over $86,500.00.

The junior high golf position for 2010 was reinstated as well as the assistant track coach position for the 2010 schedule.

Tabled until the next meeting was the renewal of the district’s property and casualty insurance policies. Also tabled was the application for early entrance into kindergarten for children whose fifth birthday falls between September 2nd and October 31st.

The next regular meeting will be Monday, April 5th at 6 p.m. because of a conflict.
