Baskets of orchid tinted gladioli, potted palms and lighted candles provided the lovely setting for the marriage of JoAnne Gleason and Robert Christensen at First Lutheran Church in Dundee on August 19th with the Rev. Roy Lund officiating.
Ruth Ann Kass and Virgil Einck were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dundee on August 19th with Rev. Francis Ryan officiating.
Carole Wenzel and Gordon Schroeder were united in marriage on August 10th at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato.
A military funeral was held August 6th for August G. Schroeder at Richmond, California.
John Koopmann passed away on Friday after a long illness and confinement to the Slayton Hospital at the age of 69.
A deal was completed Monday of this week when Mr. Benny Amborn purchased the Nelson Plumbing and Heating business from Merle Nelson.
Father Paul Hodapp received a farewell party prior to his departure on Tuesday morning for his new parish at St. Clair, Minnesota.
Mrs. Vincent Kellen, resigned as telephone operator for N.W. Well Telephone Company. Miss Maxine Pollak will take her place.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kirchner are the parents of a daughter, Lorene born on August 18th.
Dick Drealan had the misfortune of fracturing his left arm while playing football in the park last Saturday. His only regret is that he will have to sit on the bench during the coming football season.

Captain 11 visited with children at the Dundee-Kinbrae Nothing Days Celebration over the weekend.
Dundee Nothing Days Royalty were King Tommy Braun and queen Laura Wendorff.
Murray County Fair winners were announced with Jean Hope, receiving Champion on her pet Rat project; Scott Buschena for Champion for his Rabbit; Paul Funk for his Clock Shop project; and Todd Kramer for his Breeding Heifer, Market Heifer, Barrow, Market Gilt and Wether lamb. Randy Holinka received Reserve Champion for Breeding Pen and Kim Harms received Grand Champion for her calf.
Fulda Schools open August 31st.
Maple Lawn Nursing Home resident Tony Carsten celebrated his birthday during the month of August.
Fulda Bar Womens Softball team won the league championship last week. Members include Gayleen Pals, Deb Bestge, Maureen Lubben, Wanda Winter, Audrey Kolander, Tammy Paplow, Verna Bestge, Tami Koopman, Mary Winter, Deb Knorr, Cathy Hopkins, Pam Magnus, Sheila Beeck and Anna Beeck. They were coached by Joe Runkle.

Recycling containers will be distributed on Monday to Fulda residents for the start of mandatory recycling in September.
Fulda Women of Today are sponsoring Kids Week August 25-31.
Marcella Fury and Myrt Ramert received recognition pins for 25 years and 20 years of service respectively to the Maple Lawn Nursing Home.
A special Harvest Mass was held on August 15th at a rural Adrian farm.
Vern Diekmann brought his wooden propeller airplane to the Slayton airport.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jans will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 31st.
Virginia Isder and Stevan Spence were married on June 8th during a ceremony held in Long Lake, Minnesota.
Stephen and Joan Miller are proud to announce the birth of their son, Christopher on August 16th. Grandparents include Fidelis and Eddie Miller and Paul and Betty Olsem.
Twin girls, Kelsey and Shelby, were born on July 26th to Tim and Christina Betz. Grandparents include Marilyn and Charlie Wheeler and Mary and Lawrence Schroeder. Great grandparents are Ernie Davis and Robert and Velma Betz.
