The hour of bewitching is fast approaching with goblins, witches, monsters and such things haunting you. No, I'm not talking about the elections, that's the real scary stuff next Tuesday night. The scary night this week is just little kids wanting to collect as much candy as they can using that time honored line TRICK or TREAT. You give them some candy and ask them silly questions which they answer while racing to the next house. Kudos are given for best costumes, like scary, pretty or most realistic.

Next week it's much the same thing although they don't say trick or treat. We don't complement them on there costume but do judge them on appearance and what they promise they will do for us. They want our vote, they want to work for us and they will conquer the beast called Government. Our job, should we accept it, is to choose the candidate who will do the best for us. Tuesday, November 6th, we can vote and make our choice count. If you don't vote you can't complain about the results.

Hunting has been good. The ducks are plentiful and have been active with last week’s weather front bringing new ducks to the area. Starting last Wednesday through the weekend hunting has been good. Our bag has included Mallards, Gadwalls, Pintails, Wood Ducks, Canvasbacks and Green Wing Teal. The Pheasant hunting has been okay.

Our generation never got a break. When we were young they taught us to respect our elders. Now that we are older, they tell us to listen to the youth of the country.

Worrying is like a rocking chair, sure it gives you something to do, but in the end you never get anywhere."

Have a good week.
