The Fulda Raiders traveled to Slayton for the first round of playoffs Monday, October 22nd. The Raiders were hoping to reverse the outcome from their previous match against the Rebels to continue their volleyball season. Both teams came out strong. Fulda led MCC early on with a 6-4 advantage and was able to keep it close at 8-9 following a kill by Amanda Schumacher. Then the Rebels put together a strong attack and the Raiders found themselves deep in a hole at 8-15. Fulda took a time out and came back out and couldn't find a way to stop the Rebels, Raiders lost the first set 13-25

MCC carried the momentum into the second game of the night and the Raiders were soon down two sets to zero. The second set ended up with the score of 9-25. Fulda was plagued by serving errors and missed blocking opportunities at the net. Rachel Cheadle and Brittney Hermeling each recorded a kill during the set.

The final set of the night would play out similar to the others. Fulda went down early by the score of 5-0 before a dig by Brittney Hermeling stopped another point by the Rebels. The Raiders scored that point and the next, following a kill by Cheadle. Rebels charged back and once again the Raiders had their backs against the wall, 9-21. Cheadle scored two more kills on the night but it just wasn't enough. Game, set, and match goes to the Rebels 15-25.
