|
Nelson E. Moran, 91, husband of former Fulda - Slayton resident, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at his home in San Luis Obispo, California. During WWII he served as captain in the U.S. Army Artillery in the European theater where he was awarded a Bronze Star. A native of Massachusetts, Sandy owned Moran Leather Company of Boston until his retirement in 1968. He married Evelyn Beeck on April 20, 1997. Over the years they made several visits to Fulda where they visited with members of the Beeck family of Fulda and rural Worthington. Survivors besides his wife Evie are children Fredric Moran and wife Sandy Atkins-Moran of Carrolton, TX; daughter Evelyn R. Moran and Jack Woodson of Corona, NM; daughter Janice Moran of South Royalton, VT; and son Jonathan Moran of Lemon Grove, CA. Also surviving are stepchildren John Gisclon, II, and Amy Gisclon, both of San Luis Obispo, and David DeFilippo of Watertown, Mass.; grandchildren Chris Atkins and wife Jennifer and great grandchildren Taylor and Alexandra Atkins of Palm Desert, CA; granddaughter Erin Twiss and great granddaughter Cassandra Twiss of Carrolton, TX. Memorial services will to be held on Saturday, November 17, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda. Interment with military honors will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda. |
