Fulda City Council approves Dundee fire protection

December 3rd meeting
The Fulda City Council met Monday, December 3rd, with the Truth in Taxation hearing was held first with no one in attendance with questions.

The council approved a one year renewable agreement with the City of Dundee to provide fire protection for the City of Dundee. The cost would be $1000 per year and negotiated yearly.

The Fulda Fire Department will purchase a new breathable air compressor for approxamently $15,000. The old machine will require about $2,500 to repair it.

The light poles at the intersection of Highway 59 and 62 will be removed. The lights have been disconnected for sometime.

Three business have been approved for a 2013 cigarette/tobacco license and they are Maynards, Casey's and Graffs Liquor.

The resolution approving the final the final 2012 tax levy was approved.

Changes to the fees collected late fees, animal licenses, ambulance and fire calls will be considered at the January 7th meeting and will be effective Febuary 1, 2012.

The city approved a $7,000 contract with Bolten & Menk, Inc. to study the 21 year old water treatment facility. The overall objective is to determine the best filtration media and chemical feed combination to consider to renovate the filter. The pilot study would be run for one week.

Abatement proceedings will go ahead for the property at 605 S Hwy 59. The property owners were not present.

The renewal contract with Castnet for support and maintenance on the public access television channel was approved.

The next regular council meeting is January 7th at 7 pm.
