Raiders 75 - Chargers 67
The Raiders headed to Westbrook to take on the Chargers in a Red Rock Conference match up Friday evening. They knew the team would have to play their best because star forward, Melissa Gehl, was out with a muscle pull. Fulda lead early 7-2 behind the first 5 points of the contest going to Courtney Tiesler but WWG came back strong. With 9:46 left in the first half the Raiders held onto a lead of 18-16. They were able to extend the lead to 27-20 before the Raiders took a time out. Fulda came back and Sariah Cheadle (23 points) capitalized by hitting a three pointer giving them the biggest lead of the night at 30-20. WWG would not be denied and methodically started to chip away our lead. Paige Erickson (33 points) and Dayna Comnick each contributed huge baskets for the Chargers to give them a 4 point advantage going into intermission, 33-37.

It didnít take the Raiders long to get within one point behind the fine shooting of Rachel Cheadle (18 points). Fulda continued to play great defense but WWG countered our moves and they recaptured the lead and held it for the majority of the final period. Down 54-61 with three minutes left, Fulda went on the rampage. Fulda was able to pull ahead by one point with 12 seconds to go. The Raiders ended up fouling Erickson who was able to sink one of two free throws to put the game into overtime. Regulation ended 64-64.

The four minute overtime went completely to the Fulda Raiders. Fulda went up 66-64 and then the Chargers started to foul. Maddy Westra found herself in the hot seat and nailed 5 of her ten attempts from the free throw line. WWG scored only three points and didnít connect until 36 seconds remained in the final minute of overtime. Fulda took home the victory 75-67 and improved their record (11-3, 6-1)

Stats for the Raiders: Sariah Cheadle (23 pts, 7 rebounds), Rachel Cheadle (18pts, 7 rebounds, four steals), Amanda Schumacher had 10 points, Courtney Tiesler 9 points, Brittney Hermeling added (9pts, 7 rebounds, 4 assists), Maddy Westra 6 points and Ruth Cheadle chipped in one free throw.
