Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes will begin on Thursday February 7th. Classes will be held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School in Fulda. Sessions are one and one-half hours long, with classes beginning at 6 p.m. Class sessions will end on Thursday, April 4th.

Classes include structured playtime and arts and crafts time for the children and the adults together. Adults then meet in another room to discus topics of interest to all parents.

The Parent Time is a time to share ideas and learn from one another. Some topics covered last fall during Parent Time included Toddler Social Development, Discipline verses Punishment, Temper Tamtrums and Raising Girls and Boys Today.

While parents are visiting, children stay in the brightly decorated classroom for snack and more playtime.

ECFE is for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles - - whoever wants to bring the children to class.

Sherri Boehnke is the ECFE Program Coordinator and Early Childhood Educator. Parent Educator is Marcine Elder (tentative), and Allison Winter is their assistant. “Spending time together is very important for both parents and children. It is an opportunity to spend quality time together and learning while having fun,” Boehnke stated.

Sibling Care is available and parents are asked to mention that sibling care is needed when they register for the ECFE classes.

To register, please call 507-425-2736 or e-mail saboehnke@hotmail.com. Please include your name, phone number, children’s names and birth dates.

A fee is charged for the class sessions, but scholarships are available. No family will be excluded because of an inability to pay the fee.
