Expressway in Heron Lake now open

January 31, 2013

Having their first full day of business on Friday, January 18, Expressway in Heron Lake is now open.

“We’ve spent the past ten days offering samples of deli items and training staff,” explained Brent Staples, owner of the new convenience store, deli and gas station in Heron Lake. “We’re excited to be open. We’ve been very warmly received and we appreciate that!” Staples is joined on the management team by Daric Zimmerman, Retail Marketing Director, and Scott Hecker of Heron Lake, who has taken the position of General Manager at the new store.

“We’re very pleased to have Scott as our general manager. He brings a wealth of convenience store and restaurant management experience to our new location,” Staples explained. Most recently managing a McDonald’s restaurant in Iowa, Hecker brings a great leadership style to the position according to Staples.

“We were very excited to offer Scott a locally based position and for him to accept the role with our company, we look forward to having his expertise in the restaurant business at our new location,” Staples added.

Scott Hecker, who is a life-long Heron Lake resident, added “I have lived my entire life in Heron Lake but have spent the bulk of my working years traveling to work in other communities. I am very excited to take over the management of this store and have the opportunity to serve my home town. I am really looking forward to being in town every day to develop better relationships with my friends and neighbors.”

“We are certain he will help this store become a long term asset to the community,” Zimmerman added. All customers are encouraged to contact any of the team at the store (507-793-7400) with any questions or concerns.

Hours at the store will be from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. daily, with 24-hour pay at the pump available at the station. To read the rest of this article - pick up a copy of this weeks Fulda Free Press or subscribe to our eedition at http://eedition.fuldafreepress.net
