Sherri Boehnke speaks at World Day of Prayer

Sherri Boehnke, English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, was the featured speaker at Friday’s World Day of Prayer held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.

Sherri Boehnke, English as a Second Language instructor, was the featured speaker for this year’s annual World Day of Prayer observance which was held on Friday at St. Gabriel’s Church. The order of Worship had been prepared by the World Day of Prayer France Committee. Leader Nico Doom welcomed all of the people who had gathered in the basement of the church for the Worship Service.

The opening song was In Christ There is No East or West. The lyrics of this song state that “For God in Christ has made us one from every land and race; has reconciled us through his Son and met us all with grace.”

This year’s World Day of Prayer welcomed all - both friends and strangers.

Boehnke spoke about her work with people who have come from other countries and are learning the English language. “They are very gracious people and are very nice.
