The fourth-seeded Fulda Raiders traveled to the Worthington gym Tuesday night to take on the top-seeded Wabasso Rabbits in the Section 3A South girls’ basketball tournament semi-final game. The Rabbits captured a 67-47 victory over the Raiders which brought an end to the Raiders’ season. The Rabbits effectively forced the Raiders to turn the ball over 35 times, 20 of which were in the first half. The girls ended their season with an impressive record of 19-9.
Despite a 10-6 lead for the Raiders in the first half, the Rabbits went on a 13-0 run and never looked back. Brittney Hermeling nailed five three-pointers in the contest and had a team high 17 points to go along with her nine rebounds and four assists. Melissa Gehl contributed 10 points and seven rebounds, while Sariah Cheadle chipped in 12 points, six assists, and four steals for the Raiders.
Also contributing for the Raiders was Amanda Schumacher (four points), Rachel Cheadle (two points, seven rebounds), and Katelyn Renneke (two points).
